Kim first joined Orcas Island Park and Rec in 2014 and has served in various capacities including Program Coordinator, Assistant Director, and Interim Director before taking on the role of Executive Director in 2024. With a background in local government and recreation management Kim brings a wealth of experience in operations, program development, and community engagement.

When not on the job Kim volunteers with the fire department, spends time with family, enjoys the outdoors hiking, kayaking, and camping; and indoors working on puzzles, playing games, cooking, reading, and attending theater productions.

Jessie is excited to have joined the Park & Rec team in 2025. She grew up in San Diego, California, graduated from UC Berkeley, and worked in marketing for several years before moving to Orcas Island last year. She loves playing games and meeting new people, so the Park & Rec Department has been a wonderful experience. As the Operations Assistant, she helps ensure programs run smoothly and members of the community can participate in activities. In her free time, she enjoys creating art as a printmaker, exploring new hiking trails and dancing in the Orcas Dance Collective.
