Time to start looking at camps for this summer! We’ve got a variety of theater, dance and arts camp coming up for individuals between the ages of 5 and 18.

Orcas Dance Collective

Beginner Dance Camp (Ages 5-9)

Sign up for Hummingbirds Soccer- Spring 2025

Join Coach Chama for Girls Hummingbirds soccer this spring. Practices will be from 3:30 to 5:00 pm each Tuesday and Friday starting March 11 and ending April 11. We are hoping to have 3 Saturday games during this time, TBD. The team is for ages 7-10 and costs $50 for the program. Sign up here

Orcas Island Park and Recreation Announces Resignation of Justin Paulsen, Board vacancy.

Orcas Island Park and Recreation District announces the resignation of Commissioner Justin Paulsen, effective February 14, 2025. Paulsen has been a dedicated member of the Board since September 2014, contributing significantly to the growth and development of OIPRD throughout his tenure.

In his resignation letter, Paulsen expressed heartfelt gratitude to his fellow commissioners and the community, highlighting the pride he feels in being part of an organization that exemplifies community engagement and dedication. “I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to serve alongside every one of you and to have been a small part of building the foundation for our organization,” he wrote.

As Paulsen moves into his new role with the San Juan County Council, his leadership and commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities for residents have left a lasting impact on the Orcas Island community. 

The OIPRD Board of Commissioners is now seeking to fill the vacancy created by Paulsen’s resignation. This is an excellent opportunity for community members interested in contributing to the future of parks and recreation on Orcas Island. Find more information and how to apply here.
